pardon的重要搭配及口语用法

1. 用作动词，表示“原谅”，通常是及物动词，可用于以下结构：

(1) 后接名词或代词（指人或指事）作宾语。如：

He begged her to pardon him. 他求她原谅他。

Pardon my intrusion. 打扰你，请原谅！

(2) 后接双宾语，即用于pardon sb sth。如：

His father pardoned him his faults. 他的父亲宽恕了他的过错。

We must pardon him his little faults. 我们必须原谅他的小缺点。

有时可在sth前加上介词for，表示原因。如：

He begged her to pardon him for his rudeness. 他求她原谅他无礼。

2. 口语中说的I beg your pardon可以有多种用法：

(1) 用于道歉，比用I’m sorry更正式。如：

(2) 用于没听清或没听懂对方的话，请对方再说一遍（也可只说Pardon，用升调）。如：

I beg your pardon―I didn’t hear what you said. 请再说一遍――我没听见你刚才说的话。
